…then we need to talk.
Planning the fall hike of your dreams is easy when you live in the heart of Eastern Ontario’s maples. Reds, hues of yellow, fading green and the glistening water of the lakes makes hiking in Westport the main attraction for fall activities.
You have an 800-acre park for your backyard when you live in Watercolour Westport. Enjoy hiking in every season, but in the Fall, the views and colours will peak around Thanksgiving weekend.
Iconic and amazing, the Spy Rock lookout is easily accessible and you will enjoy the spectacular views. But if you have time, and mobility, try the Beaver Pond Trail. This 1.2km loop trail will bring you face to face with the most beautiful fall foliage. The trail follows a pond shoreline so the colours are even more spectacular as they reflect off the water.
If you’re ready to tackle something more challenging, then perhaps the White Pine Trail is right for you! Check out the hiking guides at the Interpretive Centre at Foley mountain. They look forward to welcoming you to this treasured place.
There is a community group that raises awareness and funds for the needs of the Foley Mountain Conservation Area. The Friends of Foley Mountain is a non profit organization which was established almost 30 years ago by a group of Westport residents. If you are looking for a place to participate in conservation efforts and leaving a better legacy for the next generation of hikers, you are welcome to join!
We all know our home is the place we gather and make memories, and this past weekend in Westport our neighbourhood had it’s first Oktoberfest party! Yes, there were soft pretzels and mustard, amazing sausages and too many side dishes to count! But here’s the thing – this wasn’t a Land Ark Homes event – this was a neighbourhood block party at its best. Finding community and lifelong friendships is why Watercolour Westport exists.
Your home in Watercolour will be the destination where friends and family gather. Activities and fall festivities are just outside your door in Westport.
While you’re in Westport stop by one of the many shops and restaurants like the Woodfired Cafe or the Cove Country Innand pick up the latest copy of Front Porch Life, inside you’ll find even more hiking tips and our Fall favourite roasted butternut squash soup recipe.
You can flip through it here too.
Come see us this Thanksgiving Weekend. The model home will be open and we would love to meet you on the porch.
