What do you do when you’ve found something wonderful?

It’s impossible to keep good news all to yourself. When was the last time you tried a new recipe? Or read a great book? Or enjoyed a destination? You likely wanted to go tell someone. Great authors have long known that happiness grows in sharing. In one of her letters, Charlotte Brontë makes the statement,

“Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste.”

In The Common Reader, Virginia Woolf writes, “Pleasure has no relish unless we share it.”

Your well-being is improved and you experience greater joy when it’s shared joy!

Research
shows that telling people about your happiness has far greater benefits than just writing it down in a journal or keeping it to yourself.

If one of the first things we do when we discover something good is to share it with others, we build bonds. It’s a habit that builds community and lifelong friendships. We inspire each other and set our direction in life from the people we share our ideas with. And when you experience greater well-being, so do those around you! It can spread to 3 levels of separation! You can help make others happy too.

We’re witnessing this come to life in Watercolour Westport. Neighbours are meeting neighbours strolling through the village and along the trails. Stories of shared trips to the local restaurants and volunteering in the community create great joy!

During the recent Westport Home Show and Spring Market, we encountered smiling faces and heartfelt greetings. A sense of community is blossoming, and you can make this your place to thrive!

Come find a better place to call home, in Watercolour.
