They’ve invested 10 years and surveyed over thirty thousand people to compile some interesting statistics. Did you know that doing less helps you to fill the need for nurturing? The less stuff you have to take care of, the more time you have for yourself and others. You can step back from the frantic pace in a home that is right-sized for your needs.
Not surprisingly, in the survey the desire to relax at home increases with age. Gen Z participants still strongly valued relaxing at home with 34% choosing it as a priority. But baby boomers and Gen X’s jumped to 48-49%.
So, how do you get to that state of relaxation and shift your priorities to match your values?
Start with downsizing your stuff. What’s an acceptable amount of things that you need for your happiness? Think about the last time you used the items that you have in the storage areas of your home, have they recently served any useful purposes? What about all those relics of unfinished projects and one-time-use items?
